SL vs NZ: Sri Lanka Win Second T20I, Level Series 1-1
Sri Lanka beat New Zealand by 16 runs in the second Twenty20 International in Mount Maunganui on Sunday to level the three-match series 1-1.
Chasing a target of 168, New Zealand were restricted to 151-6 in their 20 overs, with Tim Southee top-scoring with an unbeaten 37.
Wanindu Hasaranga and Chamika Karunaratne took two wickets apiece for Sri Lanka, who were led by a half-century from Pathum Nissanka.
Nissanka made 53 off 46 balls, including four fours and two sixes, to help Sri Lanka post a competitive total of 167-6 in their 20 overs.
Glenn Phillips (32) and Devon Conway (29) made starts for New Zealand, but they were unable to build on them as Sri Lanka's bowlers kept them in check.
The third and final T20I will be played in Hamilton on Tuesday.
