Simone Biles' quest for all-around gold ends with floor silver
Biles earns fourth medal in Paris, giving her seven career Olympic medals, second most all-time
Finals in floor, beam to conclude gymnastics competition in Paris
Simone Biles' bid to become the first two-time all-around Olympic gold medalist in women's gymnastics since 1968 came to an end on Monday at the 2024 Paris Games, as the American finished second in the floor exercise final, bringing her career Olympic medal count to seven, the second-most all-time.
Biles, 26, won silver with a score of 14.500, behind Italy's Vanessa Ferrari, who took gold with a 14.700. Jade Carey of the United States won bronze with a 14.300.
Biles' silver medal adds to the bronze she won in the balance beam final on Sunday, as well as the silver she won in the team final and the bronze she won in the all-around competition.
Biles' seven Olympic medals now trail only the record of nine won by Soviet gymnast Larisa Latynina.
The gymnastics competition in Paris concludes on Monday with the floor and beam finals. The floor final will begin at 8:20 a.m. ET, followed by the beam final at 9:00 a.m. ET.
