Amanda Knox Back In Italian Court June 5
Convicted of Slander, Knox Fights To Clear Her Name
A court in Florence, Italy will reconvene on June 5, in the case of Amanda Knox. Knox is set to defend herself against a slander conviction related to accusations she made about Patrick Lumumba, the owner of the bar where Knox worked while studying abroad in Italy. Knox previously served four years in prison after she was wrongfully convicted of murdering her roommate, Meredith Kercher, in 2007. She was acquitted of the murder charge in 2015, but the slander conviction still stands. Knox maintains her innocence in both cases.
